Zach Ritter
Computer Science
When I first met Zach Ritter, I thought of one character: Garfield. Despite his monotone voice and dry humor, Zach is dynamic individual that has never failed to suprise. This Turing scholar is more than any ordinary Computer Science major. Zach is a staring athelete in almost every Dean's Scholars sport team, was a volunteer on the Obama campaign, sang as a bass in the DS barbershop quartet, and commits himself to read every issue of the Daily Texan.
Besides spending copious amounts of time compling his programs, this opinonated DSer writes a political blog that I religiously read. Spending his time reading up on current events and reading political nonofiction, Zach can hold his own in any debate and can recite every country by heart. Playing on the drumline in highschool, Zach likes to sing and has blessed many DS'ers with his own rendition of various Disney Songs. Don't let his goofy habits fool you, Zach is what I dubb as OCD. His room is emaculate; everything object in his room has a "resting" postion. One time I accidently tipped one of his newspapers out of place and left the room with a black eye, just kidding...not.
Aside from his hobbies and habits, Zach can be considered one of the more accomplised Computer Scientists Dean Scholars has to offer. After spending a summer in San Franscisco working for an analytical software company for mobile phone applications, this DS'er was just recently offered a position at facebook. If you have not had the pleasure to meet this multi-talented Dean Scholar, then you are missing out on one of the greatest Dean's Scholars that I have had the pleasure to meet.
